About IHC Dalian

IHC Dalian: exclusive production facility for IHC Merwede in China.

In order to serve the increasing demand for IHC Merwede in China, IHC Merwede has set up a joint venture company together with Dalian Liaonan Shipyard. In this way IHC's know how in building dredging equipment is combined with the efficient shipbuilding skills of Dalian Liaonan Shipyard, to the benefit of the customer. An increasing exchange of know how and people will take the cooperation between the two companies to a new level.

Dalian Liaonan Shipyard has a broad experience in shipbuilding and large scale of facilities, such as one large drydock and two slipways, served by a 300 ton gantry crane. Nearly 3000 workers are available in all disciplines. 

Since the start up the joint venture has been building IHC 7025MP® and IHC 8527MP® cutter suction dredgers. These dredgers are specially designed matching the needs of our Chinese customers and have proved to be very succesfull. The dredging installation for these dredgers is supplied by IHC Merwede, partically from the IHC Merwede premises in Holland and partially from the IHC Merwede production facility in Guangzhou (IHC Merwede China support).

The construction of the hull and all auxiliary systems including commissioning and testing is done by Dalian Liaonan Shipyard.
